It sounds like you need the rivet nuts # RP58507. If the rivet nuts do not work then you can go ahead and drill all the way through the frame and use longer bolts to bolt the dual-cam brackets to the trailer. Also make sure that the set screws at the backs of the brackets are at the proper tension.
As far as the tension goes you may need to make adjustments to the head angle and/or the amount of chain links you are using at the spring bars to make it easier to use. view full answer...
It could be that there is either a mis-wired trailer connector, a mis-wired light or that the presence of corrosion in a connector has the running light circuit linked to the turn signal circuit. You could also have a bad bulb with a damaged filament.
You can try a new bulb to rule that out as a cause. Check all your wiring connectors for any signs of trapped dirt, moisture, corrosion or discoloration and clean or replace as needed. You can also check that your stop/turn/tail light, such... view full answer...
Your wiring problem does sound like a grounding issue. When some trailer light functions, such as brake lights and turn signals, work but running lights do not, this usually turns out to be related to a weak ground either at the vehicle wiring harness or on the trailer harness. Both ground wires must make a solid connection to a clean bare metal surface. You can clean/sand the grounding point (to remove rust, grease, primer, etc.) or you can re-locate the ground wires to new clean spots... view full answer...
It sounds like you may not have power going to the charge line circuit on your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado. You will need to first check your owners manual on your Silverado to find the 12 volt power trailer fuse. This is typically the issue causing power not to get to your interior lights. The exterior lighting on your trailer will run off your running lights for your Silverado. The interior lights are generally connected to a battery in or on the trailer which is then charged by the charge... view full answer...
With having a Curt Upgraded Circuit Protected Powered Tail Light Converter # C59496 on your vehicle you will not be able to connect your vehicle and trailer wiring directly. The converter reduces draw on the factory wiring and send power to the trailer lights from the vehicle battery. If you were to connect the wiring directly you risk damaging the wiring by putting the additional draw on the thin factory wires. view full answer...
The E/CN error on your remote indicates that communication was not established for 2 seconds. The first thing you should try is using the remote outside near the compressor. If you do not have the error then there is interference inside the vehicle which really can't be helped. I know it is a new remote but you could also try swapping out the battery. If the battery on the remote is low this could also cause the issue.
It is also possible that you don't have power on the compressor which... view full answer...
As the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 is a proportional trailer brake controller you will need to be moving with a trailer connected to get power output on the blue brake wire of the controller. If you are sitting still pressing on the brake pedal it will not send any power through the blue wire since it does not sense the vehicle coming to a stop.
We do offer the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3064-P for your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 which will allow you to connect directly from your... view full answer...
For troubleshooting we will work to eliminate one potential cause at a time. If you happen to have access to another tow vehicle, you can try your trailer with that other vehicle. This will tell you if the problem is in your trailer or your tow vehicle.
If further troubleshooting is needed I have linked an article and several videos on trailer wiring and how to go about testing. These explain much of what you need to do. In the article focus on the section titled Troubleshooting Trailing... view full answer...
Since you have tried the trailer on your wifes car and it works it is safe to assume that you have eliminated the trailer from the equation as being the problem.
The first thing I would do is test the 7-way at the rear of your 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 and make sure that there is voltage in all of the correct places. Check out the picture I attached that shows the standard way a 7-way is wired.
It is possible that a previous owner of your Ram wired up the 7-way incorrectly and that is why you... view full answer...
On the Transit LED Stop/Side Marker/Tail Light, # STL90RB, only the outer ring of LEDs and the center circle illuminate with the tail light function. The middle ring is a reflector, not a light (see photo). When the stop or turn signal is activated, only the outer ring should illuminate with a higher intensity, not the center circle, I made a short video for you showing how this light should function.
Based on your description, it sounds like your trailer has a 3-wire setup rather than... view full answer...
If you are not getting any power on the output side of the brake controller even if the controller itself is getting power there is a test you can do to determine if the controller is bad. You will first need to sever the blue wire a few inches from the back of the controller. Next you will need to use a circuit tester, like # PTW2979 if needed, to test the end coming out of the controller. The wire should only show power when you apply the manual override.
If it does not then the controller... view full answer...
To determine if there is a problem on the harness or on the trailer here is what you will need to do. Disconnect the trailer from the truck. Then use a circuit tester, like # PTW2979 if needed, to test the pins on the 4-Way end of wiring harness # C56225. If the brake and turn signals are working at the 4-Way then you know the problem is on the trailer.
If they are not working on the 4-Way and you are certain that everything is installed correctly according to the instructions, linked... view full answer...
Typically when the interior lights do not work on an enclosed trailer is is due to the charge line on your 2021 Ford F-250 missing a fuse. Be sure to check your owners manual and ensure all the fuses and relays for the towing system are in place and working. If the trailer is new be sure to verify with the trailer manufacturer if there is an onboard battery that needs to be connected for the lighting to work. Many have added an on board battery to reduce the chances of draining the vehicle... view full answer...
I checked with K-Source on the K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirrors part # KS70103-04T for your 2015 Toyota Tundra but there are unfortunately not any maintenance procedures. I'd recommend using some spray lubricate to free the slide mechanism and then some grease to prevent it from sticking again. If this does not work, best option would be to replace the mirror, part # KS70103T for passenger or part # KS70104T for driver. view full answer...
The legs of the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System # LC358590 are designed to work even during an error so I'm willing to bet that there's an issue with the wiring running from that leg to the controller. I would first check all of the wiring for any breaks, kinks, or loose connections.
You'll also want to check to ensure that you system is receiving a full 12.75 volts otherwise it can act strangely. 99% of the troubleshooting I've done with this system has... view full answer...
The blue "Brakes Being Applied" adjuster for the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 is a combination of both the max output and the sensitivity settings.
It sounds like you have the sensitivity pretty high so when you adjust the max output to a lower strength the brakes will reach that full circle faster. Try adjusting the max output and sensitivity as well as taking your towing setup to an empty parking lot to get the brakes adjusted to what you need.
If you feel like the brakes... view full answer...
Based on the picture you've provided you have installed the PWM Filter # VGR64VR correctly. When you tested the wires for power did you test the factory wiring or the end of the filter after splicing it into the factory wiring? While I haven't had anyone else with your same issue, I think that you may have just gotten a bad filter and that it just needs to be swapped out with a new one.
I recommend turning on the running lights and pricking into the wiring going out to the camera with... view full answer...
Since you have a start capacitor, your power should not be a problem; the most likely issue with the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 is "short cycling" and there are a couple of reasons why that might happen. Most often, the issue is with the thermostat reading the temperature incorrectly, maybe due to air blowing at the thermostat. When the thermostat senses cold air, it will turn on and off quickly - short cycling. If you can re-direct the air to not blow right on or near the thermostat... view full answer...
Did replacing your controller solve the issue temporarily or were the steps still closing when the door is shut? If there was no change the control module isn't the cause of the issue. Typically a bad ground connection can cause steps like these to act out but I know we've talked about this in the previous question you asked so I'm assuming you already checked yours and it's still giving you problems.
From there it could honestly be the lock out switch. The internal contacts of the switch... view full answer...
